Michael A. Otkins, Sr., is a native of Hammond, Louisiana where he still resides. He attended and graduated from Hammond High School. He is a college graduate from Union Baptist Theological Seminary. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years.

He was baptized at an early age and continues to serve as a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Willie Gable, Jr.

He serves as pastor of the  Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Lukeville, located in Brusly, Louisiana.

He presently serves as Dean of the Third District Bogue Chitto Missionary Baptist Association. He is an instructor at the Union Baptist Theological Seminary. He serves as Chairman of the Evangelical Board of Louisiana Home and Foreign Mission Baptist State Convention.

Reverend Michael Otkins, Sr.'s goal is "Winning Souls for the Lord." His passion is "Serving the Lord"; his hobbies, "Fishing and playing basketball." "And I thank Christ Jesus, our Lord, who has enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry."  Timothy 1:12.

Pastor Otkins is married to First Lady, Chevette Otkins, and they are the parents of three children, Arreyona, Amanda, and Michael, Jr.
